About the Guiding Family
Brownies are a small part of the Guiding family. In the UK, there are also Rainbows, Guides, Rangers, Young Leaders, Leaders and the Trefoil Guild.
There are Brownies all over the world.
This is the World badge and is worn by Brownies, Guides etc all over the World.

About Brownies
Brownies are aged 7 - 10 although they can stay on until their 11th birthday. Brownies make a promise 4 - 6 weeks after they join.


Brownies work on three jouneys one at a time, which should take a year for each journey. Any time after a Brownie is 9 she can work on the Go challenge. Brownies get a badge and a certificate when they finish a journey and the Go challenge.


Brownies can also work from over 50 intrest badges that they choose to do


Brownies get a birthday badge for each year they have been a Brownie. The first badge is yellow, the second is green, and the third one is red.


Any time after a Brownie is 10 she can move to the local Guide pack. The Brownie takes a Brownie Trefoil which she can sew on her gillet or thier camp blanket to show she has been a Brownie.

Guiding UK
Rainbows are aged 5 - 7.
Guides are aged 10 - 14.
The Senior Section is made up of Rangers who are aged 14 - 26, Young Leaders 14 - 18, and Young Guiders 18 - 26.
The Trefoil Guild is men and women who have been in the Scout and Guide movement and help at units and functions.
